…promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved. 2 Peter 2:19 (NASB)
It’s a crazy world we live in. If I identify myself as being a doctor, would you let me take out your appendix? If I think I’m a lawyer, would you let me argue your case before the Supreme Court? No, of course not. Why? Because, my credentials don’t match up to those identities. I don’t have a degree from a medical school or a law school. I’ve never interned in a hospital or been a law clerk for a law office. I never even called myself an author until I had a published novel to back up the claim, even though I’d had a master’s degree in creative writing for more than twenty years before then. So why then, should we blindly accept a man as a woman or vice versa simply because they “identify” as something they’re obviously not?
To me, this question opens up a whole can of worms that rivals Pandora’s Box. If I “identify” myself as a five-year-old, does McDonalds have to let me on their playground? Conversely, if I’m thirty-four, but decide I’m really sixty-five, does the federal government owe me social security? If I decide I’m a puppy…you get the idea. Where does the madness end?
We are so evidently in the end times! 2 Timothy 4:3-4 says, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.” A “guy” gave birth to a daughter this week. The myth of “his” “gender identity” was exposed, and the truth of “his” true sex was loudly proclaimed. Biology trumped “gender identity.”
What nobody seems to consider in this travesty is the effect it has on others. Everyone is so concerned about not offending the gender confused person. What about their families? They’re being torn apart by a situation they had little or no part in creating, and have no vote in the devastating consequences it inevitably brings.
As far as the bathroom issue is concerned, there are safety issues to be considered for the transgender person. But there are also safety issues for others. Why do they have no rights? Why do they deserve no consideration? “Gender identity” does not have anything to do with sexuality. Some trans-genders are gay. Others are straight. Some are pedophiles. Others are rapists. Most are simply confused. They wouldn’t hurt anyone. They’re simply trying to protect themselves from possible attack. How is any woman to know the difference? Why is her privacy and protection sublimated to the needs of the LBGT agenda?
The truth is, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27) My identity is that I am a woman created in the image of God. To deny that identity is to deny God’s authority over my life. I’d never do that. I’m His child. That’s my identity too. “See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. (1 John 3:1) God forgive us. Come, Lord Jesus, Come
